Therapy for Adults

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's okay not to know exactly what you're walking into. Here's a sense of what the process looks like.

Your first session is about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what's brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of our work together, and a little about your background because understanding where you've come from is an important part of understanding where you are now. There's no pressure to share everything at once; we go at your pace.

From there, sessions are 50 minutes and held at a frequency that works for you. While weekly or fortnightly sessions can be beneficial, we understand that life looks different for everyone and we'll work together to find a rhythm that's realistic and sustainable.

As you progress, the goal is to reach a place where you feel equipped to navigate life's challenges independently with sessions becoming less frequent over time. Many clients find that occasional check-ins are a helpful way to maintain progress and reconnect when needed. However the ending looks for you, we'll work towards it together.
